When I was four years old I put my foot in a small trickle of grey goo flowing from the Athabasca Glacier …my shoe was lost forever but my love affair with clay had begun. I am attracted to the organic nature of clay, its origins millennia ago as rock, the way it feels in my hands, its earthy smell, the fact that the craft is over 16 thousand year old…….

I have always been an artist but not always a practicing one. I received two art scholarships and attended Simon Fraser University attaining a Bachelor of Arts in Archeology and Geography. I worked in Municipal Planning for over 20 years but left the corporate world behind years ago to study clay at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and set up my own studio at home.

I love to experiment with texture and altered shapes. I also enjoy creating pieces for the garden…from birdbaths to masks.
